Aadhar Card Overview

The Aadhaar card is a unique 12-digit identification number that is assigned to you (and anyone who applies). The number is linked to your demographic (name, date of birth, age, address, mobile number, email ID etc) and biometric data (iris scan, fingerprint scan and photograph). All the data is held in a centralized database. The entire Aadhaar program is managed by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) which was set up in 2009  Aadhar Card Update without Document Proof  Every Indian resident should be issued an Aadhar card. A person who resides in India for 182 days, from the date of Aadhaar application is ideally considered a resident. Also, foreigners who have stayed in India for more than a year are eligible for Aadhar enrolment.
